Pops: The Triceratops

Pops is possibly the oldest Triceratops or a specimen of Eotriceratops. It roamed Colorado about 70 million years ago and has been a figure of Weld County for 40 years. I reconstructed Pops by studying the skull fossils and the anatomy of Triceratops and other ceratopsians from the area. Referencing the large hexegonal scales found in skin impressions and possible keratinous covering of the frill and horns.

Created using Zbrush, Blender, Substance Painter, and rendered in Cycles.
